Vinyltalk mit Armeghan Taheri (Afghan Punk)
Things went quiet around the stars, the cultural creators — and also around their audiences. For in the diaspora, there was often a lack of time, resources and, consequently, structures, in a daily life usually characterised by hard work and starting afresh. A daily life in which the creation of culture already seemed to be dominated by the respective majority societies. What emerged as a result is a problem that has been passed down through generations.
Fortunately, there are people like Armeghan Taheri, our guest this evening. Through the ‘Sarkash سرکش Underground Festival’, which she co-founded, and ‘Afghan Punk’, a platform for art and political activism, she connects the past and present of future generations – in all their multifaceted identities.
With tenacity and a consistently analytical approach, the Berlin-based author, artist and subculture activist explores visions of the future. And the question of how people can create conditions in which they can develop new visions for themselves. She will be speaking about how she goes about this. And together, the audience will listen, watch and chat their way through examples from her work and her circle — in the third instalment of her ever-cosy, living-room-style talk at the music club.
