Outstanding female photographers have shaped the medium of photography from the very beginning. At the Bauhaus, too, the camera became a tool for female self-determination.

Navigating the tension between artistic experimentation, conservative gender roles, emancipation, and the professional identity of the female photographer, this curator-led tour explores the issues that shape our contemporary perspective on Bauhaus photographers.

The tour offers a curatorial perspective on the motifs and contextualizes their creation within the complex political landscape of the Weimar Republic.
