New to German News

Stakeholders, NGOs and media outlets will present themselves at information stands in the atrium and make contacts. The Goethe-Institut will host a workshop on language acquisition and news. The popular Comedy Café Berlin from the expat community will offer a stand-up set about news.

Guided tours in Arabic through the exhibition NACHRICHTEN – NEWS will round off the programme. In a media workshop, visitors will take a look behind the scenes of newspapers and online media and slip into the role of news editors themselves.

The action day ‘New to German News’ on 27 July 2025 promotes the participation of migrants and expats in news and the press. It takes place in the context of the exhibition NACHRICHTEN – NEWS, which runs until 7 September 2025. Among other things, it sheds light on our relationship with news, traces the historical development of news and provides insights into the work of correspondents.
