30 wire walkers rise to the challenge
WireWalkers celebrate diversity, courage and solidarity. The high wire stands for trust, mutual support and the courage to take new steps – values that underpin their community.
On 20 September 2026, the WireWalkers are therefore inviting everyone to take part in a special challenge: will 30 tightrope walkers manage to cross the rope within three hours?
Spectators are very welcome!
Bring a blanket, grab your camping chairs and make yourselves comfortable around the high-wire course. The activities take place outdoors, so please ensure you wear weather-appropriate clothing. Changes may occur due to the weather.
Entry is free, but donations are welcome.
Would you like to take part in the challenge and cross the rope yourself?
30 participants are set to cross the rope at a height of either 2 metres or 6 metres within 3 hours. The trainers will help you get ready.
Every person who takes part brings the whole team a step closer to this shared goal.
Register on the WireWalkers website so they know you want to take part. You’ll also find further information there for all participants in the challenge
Never walked on a tightrope before?
If you’ve fancied learning how to walk on a tightrope yourself, you can fulfil this wish by taking part in training sessions and workshops with the WireWalkers.
WireWalkers offer training sessions and intensive workshops for beginners and advanced walkers aged 11 and over, as well as events for teams and youth groups. On ropes ranging from half a metre to 6 metres in height, high-wire walking becomes a tool for self-efficacy, resilience and social connection.
In small groups, the trainers guide participants through their first steps on the rope, exploring greater heights and attempting daring tricks. People of different ages and backgrounds come together here to test their limits, learn from one another and overcome challenges together.
Dates for training sessions up to October 2026, as well as information and tickets, are available exclusively on the WireWalkers website. Bookings for team events in 2027 are now being accepted.
Where?
You’ll find the WireWalkers team at Tempelhofer Feld, at the south-eastern end next to the skate park (the location isn’t shown quite correctly on the map). The nearest entrances to the field are on Oderstraße/Leinestraße. The best way to get there is by public transport.
Get involved with WireWalkers!
They are Coraggio – Die Kulturanstifter e.V., a small non-profit organisation based in Berlin-Kreuzberg, and they run a high-wire course on Tempelhofer Feld in the heart of Berlin.
Their high-wire project is called WireWalkers, and they offer training in rope walking and high-wire walking for beginners, advanced participants and teams alike. An outdoor activity that simply makes you happy – for greater balance, self-confidence and body awareness.
They want to keep their high-wire course open to all visitors to Tempelhofer Feld. They’d be delighted if you could support them in this – please feel free to get in touch with them – see the WireWalkers website for contact details.
