Gernsheim-Duo (Anna Gann soprano / Naoko Christ-Kato, piano)

The ensemble, based in Thuringia, is dedicated to the rediscovery of works by forgotten Jewish composers of the Romantic era. Concerts went as far as Japan, in Germany various daily newspapers and ARD radio stations reported on the duo.

The namesake of the ensemble, Friedrich Gernsheim (1839-1916), worked in Berlin from 1890 until his death, including as Vice President of the Senate of the Academy of Arts. He is buried in the Jewish cemetery in Weißensee.
