Music collective – world music from Berlin

Founded in 1991 in the Ukrainian city of Poltava. In Berlin since 1994.

• The trio played on Christoph Schlingensief's legendary ‘Talk 2000’ (VOX).
  
• Collaboration with Karsten Troyke since 1999. Performances with Yiddish song programmes at the Klezmer Festival in Ancona, Brussels, Vienna, Paris and Warsaw, among others. Participation in the documentary and concert films ‘Yiddish Soul’ (ARTE).
  
• Performances in the programme: ‘Schlaf schneller, Genosse...’ (Sleep faster, comrade...) from the Jazz-Lyrik-Prosa series with Ursula Karusseit and Günter Junghans. 2007 and 2008 performances at the ‘Fête de L'Humanité’ in Paris.
  
• Collaboration with singer Sandra Kreisler, chansonnier Christophe Bourdoiseau, Chanson-Nette and Cécile Rose.
  
• Trio SCHO plays as the film band in the 10-part series ‘Im Angesicht des Verbrechens’ (In the Face of Crime) by Dominik Graf. In ‘The Dust of Time’ by Theo Angelopoulos and in the film ‘Der Uranberg’ (The Uranium Mountain) by Dror Zahavi.
  
• Trio SCHO's repertoire includes Russian songs and instrumental pieces from the ‘Golden Twenties’ to the present day, as well as their own songs, Russian swing and bossa nova. Their appearances on radio and television and at the Carnival of Cultures show how versatile the three musicians can be. In 2000 and 2011, the trio won the Berlin Senate's music competition.
