Classic children’s books by Astrid Lindgren

Christmas is just round the corner: at Katthult Farm in Lönneberga, people are baking, cooking and putting up decorations. There’s a great sense of anticipation – but not everyone in the village can look forward to a joyful festive season.

At the poorhouse, the strict Mrs Maduskan makes sure the residents get very little to eat. Maduskan keeps all the treats that Michel’s mother has given them for herself. Luckily, there’s Michel! With his big heart and a bold idea, he invites the poor to a festive Christmas dinner at Katthult and lures the wicked Maduskan into a trap. In this way, he ensures that, in the end, everyone gets to experience the Christmas they deserve.

An enchanting and humorous Christmas story based on Astrid Lindgren’s work, about friendship, generosity and the true spirit of the festive season.
