a musical lecture by Dr. Dietmar Hiller (Concert Hall Berlin)
For decades, Elisabeth Leonskaja has been one of the leading pianists of our time. She was promoted early on by Swjatoslaw Richter, who recognized her enormous talent. She has won various internationally renowned piano competitions and has been making guest appearances with the world's most famous orchestras and conductors for decades.
Numerous of her recordings show the wide range of what is musically close to her heart: chamber music, concerts with orchestra, solo programs.
The Konzerthaus Berlin invites the world-famous pianist from February 22 to March 3, 2024 to honor her and her lifetime musical achievements with a festival week dedicated to her. There will be evenings with the Konzerthausorchester, solo evenings, chamber music performances and even a public master class (this one in collaboration with the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music). In his musical lecture, Dietmar Hiller will pay tribute to the life and work of this exceptional artist.
Dietmar Hiller is a musicologist and has been working as a dramaturge at the Konzerthaus Berlin for almost 40 years. In this function he has been explaining the world of classical music to music-loving people with his lectures and concert introductions for many decades. In addition, he works as an organist and church musician and volunteers in the Berlin choir scene.
