Mari Kim paints young women with huge eyes - the so-called "Eyedolls". For her figures, she often draws on female icons from history, such as Margaret Thatcher, Marie Antoinette and Coco Chanel.
Mari Kim also transforms well-known female characters from fairy tales and cartoons - such as Wonder Woman, Snow White or Tinkerbell - into Eyedolls. In doing so, she adopts familiar attributes or makes use of optical stereotypes to clearly emphasize the allusion to these very characters.
Bright, intense colors and bold, graphic lines characterize her portraits. Mari Kim's art is a novel and individual mixture of Manga, Disney, Pop Art and digital techniques.
