On September 11, 2026, trumpeter and composer Maik Krahl will release his new album, *Rain, Flowers and New Beginnings*. To celebrate the release, Krahl will present the new program with his quartet on an extensive concert tour throughout Germany and will perform in Berlin on September 22, 2026, at the B-Flat.

*Rain, Flowers and New Beginnings* is an album about optimism, serenity, and the little things that are easily overlooked in everyday life. Rain, flowers, and new beginnings symbolize renewal and the ability to maintain a positive outlook even in turbulent times.

In nine original compositions, Maik Krahl turns his attention to seemingly insignificant moments: a glint of light on a windowpane, a bird on a power line, the shadows of a cloud on a dirt road, or a quiet evening with a glass of wine. From these small observations emerge musical stories about memories, hope, transience, and inner peace.

Songs like “Blue Dots Descending,” “One Way Dialog,” “Happy Silly Season,” “Breathe,” and “No Pace, No Race” shed light on different facets of this idea. The title track, “Flowers and New Beginnings,” ultimately embodies the experience that new life often emerges precisely where one expects to find an end.

With his narrative, evocative, and at the same time groovy compositional and instrumental style, Krahl brings the incidental to the forefront. He is supported by Constantin Krahmer (piano), Jakob Kühnemann (bass), and Fabian Rösch (drums).

“Maik demonstrates an honesty and generosity in his writing and trumpet playing that gives the listener a glimpse into an inspired inner world.”—Chris Cheek

“Maik Krahl represents the current pinnacle of German jazz trumpeters of his generation. His musical contributions enrich me and fill me with anticipation for the future of an entire genre that will always exist. My highest compliments!” — Till Brönner
