They are performing the wonderful arias and songs that made Luciano Pavarotti famous—100 percent live and without microphones. The program features works by Verdi, Puccini, and Donizetti, as well as popular Italian songs. Selected pieces include “Nessun dorma,” “‘O sole mio,” “Caruso,” “La donna è mobile,” “Torna a Surriento,” “E lucevan le stelle,” “Funiculì, Funiculà,” “Vesti la giubba,” “Mamma,” “Granada,” and many more.

The three powerful singers, hailing from Germany, Spain, and Italy, aim to pay musical tribute to the tenor of the century.

Johannes Groß, from Dortmund, is the leader and founder of the German Tenors and is considered by many to be one of the last heroic tenors of our time.

Oscar Marin is a “lirico spinto” by voice; he hails from Barcelona, was a student of Montserrat Caballé, and now performs all over the world.

Ricardo Marinello grew up in Düsseldorf and won the talent show “Das Supertalent” at the age of 18, yet he went on to continue his classical training and captivates audiences with his lyrical tenor voice. Most recently, he has also caused a sensation on TikTok and Instagram, with over a million followers on each platform.

The performers will be accompanied by keyboard virtuoso Claudia Hirschfeld on her fascinating orchestral organ. In 2017, Hirschfeld also composed “Luciano,” a musical tribute to Pavarotti, which has since won several awards at composition competitions worldwide.

Radio and TV host Thomas Gerres will reflect on Luciano Pavarotti’s eventful life through stories and anecdotes.
