a personal Diary of lautten compagney

The multi-award-winning lautten compagney Berlin presents its 40th anniversary best-of album!

Next year it will be 40 years since Hans-Werner Apel and Wolfgang Katschner founded the lautten compagney in East Berlin. It has long since become a life project and a Gesamtkunstwerk for both of them.

In the Lute Songbook, the two founders and other musicians of the ensemble have collected their favorite pieces from the recordings and concerts of the past years.

These are pieces of music that are considered particularly beautiful, or particularly important, or particularly influential, and which can now be heard in the :lounge in Weißensee.

Music from the 16th and 17th centuries by Giulio Caccini, John Dowland, John Playford, Henry Purcell, Claudio Monteverdi, Gaspar Sanz, Barbara Strozzi and others.
