Sound of Bauhaus

The only opportunity to pay a night-time visit to the museum is during the Long Night of Museums! The Bauhaus-Archiv will be taking part and opening its project space the temporary bauhaus-archiv and the building site info centre the bauhaus view to visitors from 5 pm to 2 am. A fascinating programme entitled Sound of Bauhaus awaits you with insights into the music of the Bauhaus with concerts and talks on a wide range of topics: from the Bauhaus whistle to the Baroque music of J. S. Bach, Puccini’s operas, the avant-garde music by Stefan Wolpe and the Bauhaus orchestra. Music at the Bauhaus was as diverse as its art with all the influences of the Roaring Twenties!

The night kicks off at 5 pm with a special edition of the bauhaus_lab inspired by Wassily Kandinsky’s Music Room, where participants can create their own Bauhaus music room from an assortment of materials provided on location.

Starting at midnight, you can wind down with a live VJ performance by the sound artist VELVE.
