Archaeological finds are often unearthed badly damaged or threatened by decay. Securing, repairing, and preserving them is the task of conservators and restorers. It's part of the daily work at PETRI Berlin.
At the workshop table in the exhibition, a trainee conservator from the Berlin University of Applied Sciences and Economics will demonstrate how restoration works. He will share his knowledge and answer questions. You can see up close how an original find is processed, which methods and tools are used, and what the biggest challenges are.
The workshop table is located in front of the restoration workshop on the 2nd floor.
