Book premiere by Ioana Cristina Casapu

"There's a Berlin Wall in each of us." Under this motto, Ioana Cristina Casapu compiles 24 essays in her "Berlin Diary," connecting her exact 10 years of individual experiences in the German capital with social issues.

From the perspective of a new, globally oriented generation, her texts speak of the experience of being in-between, between Romania and Berlin, the legacy of the past and the future, and of foreignness and belonging.

Ioana Cristina Casapu (born Romanian) is a Berlin-based author whose works have appeared in over 30 anthologies and magazines in English and Romanian. In 2016, she made her debut with the novel Deviații de Stereo (Casa de Pariuri Literare, Bucharest), which was published in 2019 under the title Heart Beats: A Memoir of The Millennial Generation on Social Media.

In her texts, she explores original ideas on feminism, migration, politics, and loneliness in European cities. In 2024, she founded FLINTA* Literatur, Berlin's platform for FLINTA authors with a migration or refugee background.
