The exhibitions “Geteiltes Leben” and “Tapetenwechsel” focus on art and living in a society of migration.
Rarely seen works of art and archival material from the 1960s to the present day tell stories of exile, everyday life, and self-determination.
Audio interviews offer further insights across borders into Berlin’s history and stories. Join us for a guided tour and talk with the curators of both exhibitions.
Tip: Alongside “Shared Lives: Art and Migration in Berlin,” the Gropius Bau is presenting the exhibition “Kreuzberg: Art and Migration Since 1960.” It focuses on art created in connection with labor migration in Kreuzberg.
