The Libertyville High School Orchestra consists of strings, winds, brass, and percussion, divided into three main groups: Concert Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra, and Chamber Orchestra. They perform approximately four times during the school year.

The orchestra is dedicated to performing standards of the classical orchestral repertoire, new works by living composers, and high-quality arrangements of jazz and popular music. In addition to orchestral performances, students are musically active throughout the year and learn the fundamentals of music theory and composition.

The Libertyville Symphony Orchestra has participated in the Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago, Illinois three times. All orchestras consistently receive top marks in Illinois State Music Competitions and have made numerous tours in the United States and around the world.

Past international tours include Vietnam, Spain, France, Belgium, Austria, Czech Republic, Italy, Germany, Brazil, Greece, Cuba, Peru, and China.

Jeremy Marino has taught at Libertyville High School since the fall of 1999. Before coming to Libertyville, Marino attended Northwestern University where he studied percussion and earned a bachelor's degree in music education and percussion performance and a master's degree in percussion performance.

Under his direction, Libertyville High School's orchestras are consistently ranked among the best in the state of Illinois. The symphony orchestra has been invited to perform at the Illinois Music Educators Conference and the prestigious Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic. The chamber orchestra has been invited to participate in the inaugural Orchestra America Festival and the ILMEA Conference.
