read by Julia Jäger and Matthias Habich
A man writes a thank you letter. A woman answers. This is how it begins. "Lélé" is the fictional exchange of letters between two people who couldn't be more different and couldn't live either.
An elderly widower says thank you for the result of an online order - a custom-made dog collar with an embroidered name, "Oskarla". Rather surprisingly, the person responsible for this work replies – the inmate of a correctional facility. The dog collar is part of the range of goods on the “With liability” website.
The initially formal dialogue soon becomes more, the exchange between two very idiosyncratic characters, who neither address their mutual forlornness nor their respective imprisonment... but always let it be felt.
And who have a lot to give until there is nothing left to lose.
“Lélé” was literally tailored to the stage and film stars Matthias Habich and Julia Jäger. Both have made history several times, with classics such as Fritz Umgelter's "The Strange Life Story of Friedrich Freiherr von der Trenck" or Detlev Buck's "Karniggels", on stages from Vienna to Leipzig, with Oscars for "Nowhere in Africa" and "Toyland" and once even together, in the television epic "Klemperer - Ein Leben in Deutschland".
(Program in German)
For "Lélé" Julia Jäger and Matthias Habich meet for the first time on a stage, namely in the Bruckner Foyer of the Berlin Renaissance Theater.
