King Lear is considered one of Shakespeare's cruelest plays. The Shakespeare Company Berlin accompanies the old king on his journey from false modesty and gigantic hubris, through smoking anger, raging pain and bitter disappointment to madness. This provides deeper insights into human existence than reason, and man is most human when, like the king, he recognizes that he is nothing but an animal on three legs.

But don't worry: the Shakespeare Company wouldn't be itself if it didn't discover the humor in drama and present it to you in unexpected places! Look forward to this deeply touching tragedy!
