Dženana Vucic’s *after war* is an unflinching exploration of violence and its consequences—filled with poems that oscillate between personal experience and written tradition to explore the “aftermath” and the enduring repercussions of war, genocide, and displacement.

Taking the Bosnian War and its traumas as its starting point, this powerful debut explores themes such as identity and the sense of belonging (or not belonging), language and its gaps, history and the way we remember it, as well as violence and our own entanglement in it.

The poetry collection will be presented on July 30 in Berlin as part of a book launch featuring readings by the author and a discussion moderated by Alexander Wells.
