On 28 September 2024, the new permanent exhibition ‘Konrad Adenauer. The first Federal Chancellor’ will open at the Konrad Adenauer Forum in Berlin. The exhibition shines a spotlight on the founding chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany. Across more than 400 m2, interactive media stations and original objects bring Konrad Adenauer and the significance of his policies to life.

The exhibition highlights the three main topics of democracy, freedom and Europe during the chancellorship of Konrad Adenauer (1949-1963).

At the interactive media stations, visitors gain new perspectives on the life and work of the founding chancellor, the development of democracy in West Germany after the Second World War, the country's integration with the West and the German question and the Berlin crisis, Adenauer's commitment to European unification and the reconciliation between Germany and France.

360-degree production

The exhibition also highlights Adenauer's many connections to Berlin. An elaborate 360-degree production invites visitors to take a trip through Berlin with John F. Kennedy, Konrad Adenauer and Willy Brandt.
