‘Jazz goes Synagogue’ is a project by the jazz musician Albrecht Gündel-vom Hofe and the Israeli singer and cantor Aviv Weinberg.

The language of jazz and the specially composed arrangements create new listening experiences for traditional and modern liturgical chants as well as contemporary settings of psalms, whilst preserving their spiritual character.
The distinctive sound is further shaped by improvisation and the unusual line-up of the jazz ensemble Sound of Bet Haskala: Aviv Weinberg (voice), Uwe Steinmetz (alto & soprano saxophones), Lauren Steinmetz (cello), Albrecht Gündel-vom Hofe (piano, arr.), Marcel Krömker (double bass).
