In the Kaluza Quartet, the four musicians work together to develop their respective ideas and approaches, with each member contributing equally.

This gives rise to a very personal kind of music, without hierarchies, without preconceived concepts, in the here and now, shaped not only by the musicians and their respective personal histories, but also by the moment, the space, and everyone present who shapes the moment through their presence.

The band’s lineup may be that of a typical jazz quartet.

However, only those aspects of jazz that are close to the musicians’ hearts come to the fore: the freedom and spontaneity of jazz, not the competition and not the constraints of a fixed form.

The acoustic, dynamic sound of jazz, not the uniform and predictable sound.

The background noises of the instruments and of life are welcome here; it is not about purity, cleanliness, and safety.

The focus is on the process, not the product.
