Tolkien's small works - On the "International Tolkien Reading Day" (Tolkien Reading Day), works by J.R.R. Tolkien are presented in libraries, bookstores and other institutions. This year, the focus is on the "small works" of Tolkien. Most of them are independent stories. From sagas of gods and heroes, love stories, seafaring stories, farmers and trees, letters to Santa Claus to the battles of Middle Earth.

John Ronald Reuel Tolkien (1892-1973) is best known as a writer for his major works The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, but his importance as a linguist and literary scholar should not be underestimated.
Over 50 more or less completed books, stories, essays and poems have now been published - and new ones are still being added.
