Shasha Chen, Ute Wassermann
On 21 October, Shasha Chen (Fellow 2026) explores the virtual audio performance space as a living organism: screens, sound and live performance elements become interdependent ‘organs’ that form a dynamic and responsive system tailored specifically to the Grüner Salon.
As part of Chen’s ongoing series fe-[mute(male)], the work examines the reproduction, commodification, circulation and consumption of the female body as a simulacrum.
Following the performance, there will be a conversation between the artists Shasha Chen and Ute Wassermann.
The discussion will be held in English.
The project was originally commissioned by SANE – Spatial Audio Network Europe as part of the Artist-in-Residence programme @ ECHO Factory at the Festspielhaus Hellerau (Dresden) and at ZiMMT (Leipzig).
