How do we remember a family whose paths have been lost across centuries and countries? This book is a personal search for traces of the Dreiseitel family, who lived for generations as part of the German minority in Eastern Galicia (now Ukraine) until resettlement and expulsion in 1939 abruptly changed their lives.

Drawing on eyewitness accounts and archival material, author Christina Schmidt reconstructs a family history shaped by migration, displacement, and loss, following their journey as they flee and begin anew in the GDR, all the way up to the present day.

We warmly invite you to the book launch with author Christina Schmidt.
