More than just the end of the workday!

Holy Aperoly: Starting the evening together.

In Spandau's old town, in front of the venerable St. Nikolai Church on a Friday evening, around 70 people stand in small groups at high-top tables, sipping orange drinks, snacking, and chatting. Is this a wedding? An official reception? No, the Evangelical Church of Spandau is once again hosting Holy Aperoly.

Holy what? Holy Aperoly. Holy, in German, means "heilig" (holy), because it begins with a short reflection that connects Christian thoughts with daily life. And Aperoly refers to the refreshing summer drink Aperol.

The event was initiated by Vicar Julia Preukschat and City Church Manager Dominic Riemenschneider. Together with a dedicated team, they organize the Holy Aperoly at St. Nikolai. The event is inspired by similar gatherings in other regional churches and parishes.

The next Holy Aperoly will be a punch edition: We will celebrate the end of the week together. In addition to a devotional service and drinks, there will be snacks and atmospheric decorations appropriate for the dark hours.
