Die Gorillas Improvisation Berlin

When the two world-class cellists Moritz Ebert and Simon Hoffmann struck up a lively conversation with the performers after attending a Gorillas show, the idea for a joint project was quickly born.

The cello stands for romance, longing, sensuality—a true “classic.” But what happens when it’s run through a distortion pedal or a Moog filter? Suddenly, science-fiction-like sounds, modern soundscapes, and endless possibilities emerge. What actions and stories does this inspire in the Gorillas’ performers?

And what musical interactions does the action on stage, in turn, inspire in the cellists, whose sound is further enhanced by Felix Raffel on the keyboards?

A musical-scenic interaction at the highest level: lively, surprising, entertaining, and sometimes simply...beautiful!
