In his solo piece, Konstantin embarks on a personal journey through East Berlin. As he dances, he embodies a wide variety of characters: a grumbling East German, his dog, or an aunt – and then there’s also a stone.

Whether one is free or not is a trivial question, yet the piece ‘Secretly Bound’ examines precisely this superficiality with which people nowadays sometimes treat those around them – here in Berlin and in many other places.

Through self-deprecating humour and playing with stereotypes, Konstantin Wloch explores this world and seeks a different way of speaking about the political climate in (East) Germany: perhaps with more compassion and humour.

At the same time, the solo holds up a mirror and shows what can happen when people see only their own fears in others, rather than the people themselves.
