Whoever hears the harmonica is fascinated. Whoever plays it discovers an undreamt-of strength. The HARMONICA F E N FESTIVAL 2022 shows the small instrument in its musical richness.
"The harmonica is a cultural bridge builder," says festival curator Marko Jovanović. "It is played almost everywhere in the world today and is at home in the most diverse genres. We want to bring the many facets of our instrument to life."
Internationally renowned harmonica players have accepted Jovanović's invitation to Berlin:
Spain's harmonica star Antonio Serrano (flamenco, jazz), jazz greats such as William Galison and Bill Barrett from the USA, Irish harmonica player Joel Andersson from Sweden, Argentine Santiago Alvarez (folk and tango), harmonica icon Steve Baker (blues), Polish bluesman Adam Sikora (country blues), young chromatic player Gordon Lee from Hong Kong (classical), Steven De bruyn from Belgium (jazz), Berliners Bernd Kleinow and Marcos Coll (both blues) and Mátyás Pribojszki from Hungary (blues).
The HARMONICA F E N FESTIVAL wants to inspire people. It is a celebration for the harmonica and all those who want to be fascinated by it.
