Glassmakers, artists, designers and students from Berlin, Brandenburg, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia as well as from Finland and Sweden have been networked to reinterpret and further develop the millennia-old craft of glassmaking. In the course of numerous workshops and artist residencies at the participating glassworks, they explored innovative, aesthetic, functional and sustainable approaches to working with the material using analogue and digital tools as well as current issues. This artistic exploration of new possibilities and the resulting objects were brought together in this exhibition, which travels from the Bröhan Museum to the Finnish Glass Museum in Riihimäki and The Glass Factory in Boda, Sweden.   In addition to fascinating new objects, most of which are being presented for the first time, the exhibition shows films that make manufacturing processes visible as well as tools, semi-finished products and other materials that make them tangible. The show also includes works by six project scholarship holders who have approached various aspects of the material glass and its production through artistic research. Beyond the physical exhibits, the exhibition aims to make the implicit knowledge of glass craftsmanship tangible.
