Guided tour led by shepherd Hannah Becker and park manager Steffen Tervooren, SPSG
For several years now, visitors to our parks have been seeing sheep in the meadows more and more often. Grazing is used as a way to reduce the use of machinery in meadow habitats and to enable diversified management.
These fluffy helpers also provide a more insect-friendly way of “mowing” the meadows and, in turn, spread valuable seeds from grasses and wildflowers.
During the walk, shepherd Hannah Becker and park district manager Steffen Tervooren will share lots of interesting facts about our sheep grazing program and give you the chance to get up close with the animals. Questions and lively discussion are welcome.
