A multi-layered sound experience with the Australian artist and composer.
What does a space sound like when musicians rediscover it?
Annika Kahrs’ sound installation ‘Chorus’ transforms Berlin’s oldest surviving church building into a walk-in sound space. During the special exhibition, four live performances will each tie in with the installation in their own way.
Berlin-based musicians and producers will use the sound system to present their own works and ideas. In doing so, they will draw on historical sound locations within St Nicholas’ Church and infuse them with new sounds. Each performance will thus offer a different perspective on the venue.
Felicity Mangan is an Australian artist and composer who lives and works in Berlin. She uses her own archive of recordings from her surroundings and sounds to create multi-layered auditory worlds. In doing so, she combines natural and artificial sounds.
