With these questions, they plunge into a world of the fantastical. A swarm swirls through the air and lands gently. Multi-legged creatures hop past, cheeky figures dance in a circle – everything seems to be in motion! A simple handshake gives rise to ever-changing forms: the two dancers, Veronika Heisig and Manuel Lindner, playfully transform into constantly shifting beings. They flit back and forth between humanity and mythical creatures. At times they are almost human, at others completely different.
‘Fabelhaft’ invites children, families and educators to discover little wonders and witness transformations. There’s space to sit back, close your eyes, dream – and then, spurred on by the chaotic beats, start moving along with the rhythm again.
The piece consists of two parts: first, the audience watches; afterwards, everyone is invited to get moving themselves and try out the transformations with their own bodies.
A production by Junges Tanzhaus Berlin in collaboration with the Inter-University Centre for Dance Berlin.
The project is funded by the Neukölln District Office using funds from the KiA programme of the Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion.
