30 new pictures, exhibited for the first time, by the internationally renowned Berlin painter Edward B. Gordon.

Gordon is a passionate contemporary portraitist whose works are characterized by a distinctively subtle style. His view of the world is captured in ever new facets in his pictures. This view is clear and unadulterated, capturing more detail than the average viewer. The artist awakens a touching potential of silence and suggests his environment - his city of Berlin, his family, friends and acquaintances - with special focus and color nuances, a panorama of uniqueness, hidden in the everyday.

Gordon portrays urban life in a realistic manner, making his works reminiscent of photographs. He transforms fleeting perceptions into poetic, almost magical moments. The people portrayed convey both joy and fear. These "picturesque" observations radiate an extraordinary attraction and their contrasts combine to form sensual units. The paintings make us think and make us pause to imagine the moment we are seeing.

Gordon's paintings are always figurative, the brushstrokes are impasto and self-confident. Both his "day pictures" and his large-format oil paintings, which Gordon works on over months or years, create a very unique atmosphere that is based on the artist's remarkable powers of observation.
