In 2008, he was awarded the official title of “Blues Ambassador to the State of Arkansas,” and that same year, the German Rock and Pop Music Association named him the best R&B singer. The 2017 documentary “How Berlin Got the Blues” tells EB’s fascinating story.
His musical journey took him from the roots of the blues in 1960s Memphis, through New York—where he performed with stars such as B.B. King, Wilson Pickett, Isaac Hayes, and Millie Jackson—all the way to Berlin, where he founded his internationally cast superband in the 1990s.
The seven-piece band is known for rousing blues, soul, and R&B; groovy original compositions, soulful ballads, and pure joy of playing. Authentic, passionate, and danceable!
