Christiane Rösinger / HAU
In 1924, Erwin Piscator’s proletarian “Revue Roter Rummel” premiered in Berlin to an enthusiastic audience of workers.
Over 100 years later, musician and author Christiane Rösinger brings a contemporary agitpop revue to the stage, which sheds light on today’s class relations through the unscrupulous use of every theatrical device at her disposal.
Seven experts and a band deconstruct the ‘myth of the middle class’ and the buzzword ‘classism’, refute the persistent legend of social mobility through merit and education, offer therapeutic help for left-wing shame about one’s heritage, and share the rich experiences of precarious life with the audience.
Stories of falling behind rather than rising up! The cast includes the writers Stefanie Sargnagel and Paula Irmschler, as well as well-known fellow performers from the hit productions “Stadt unter Einfluss” and “Planet Egalia”.
- German / English surtitles / approx. 100 mins.
