performed by MILAN DEVINNE & THE THIN WHITE DUKE ORCHESTRA
A captivating live production that reinterprets Bowie's greatest songs with orchestral brilliance. With an international ensemble, first-class sound technology and an exclusive advance documentary, the show combines emotion, energy and artistic attention to detail – a vibrant celebration of the legacy of one of the most influential artists in pop history.
David Bowie's artistry transformed pop music into high art. With "David Bowie Symphony," an ambitious concert project celebrates the icon in a grand, contemporary way: orchestral sound and rock band merge into an energetic live experience that makes the visionary's work audible and tangible anew – respectful, meticulously crafted, and with profound emotional depth.
David Bowie Symphony - The Celebration Concert
This production is the symphonic expansion of "Mr. Bowie – The Reality Show" by singer Milan Devinne. Known for his extraordinary vocal range and his authentic approach to Bowie's musical universe, Devinne breathes new life into classics like "Space Oddity," "Heroes," "Life on Mars?" and "Let's Dance." The arrangements emphasize the songs' dramatic power without altering their essence – a tribute delivered with heart, precision, and deep respect.
International Team for World-Class Sound
The Italian conductor and arranger Andrea Bonaldo is responsible for the musical direction, forging a cohesive unit from the orchestra and rock band. On guitar is Peter Pohl, whose work with Falco, Opus, and Supergau has established him as one of the most accomplished guitarists on the European rock scene. The audiophile framework is provided by Helmut Scheiber, an Austrian sound engineer with credits ranging from Status Quo and Boney M to Chris Norman – guaranteeing transparent, powerful sound aesthetics that reach even the back row.Exclusive Voices from Bowie's Circle
A special element of the evening is a short documentary before the show. It features Richard Young (legendary British photographer of David Bowie, Freddie Mercury, The Rolling Stones, and members of the Royal Family), Thierry Amsallem (CEO of the Montreux Jazz Festival and a close friend of Bowie's), and Peter Freestone (longtime personal assistant to Freddie Mercury and collaborator of David Bowie). Her recollections offer a rare, intimate perspective on Bowie's world and provide thematic context for the concert.
Officially Supported
The project is officially supported by Hermjo Klein, who, as a European tour manager, has worked with artists including David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, Queen, Jimi Hendrix, and Janis Joplin: "With his unique vocal timbre and quality, Milan Devinne can recreate Bowie's archetypal sound and captivate even his most devoted fans."
Global Perspective
Milan Devinne brings extensive international experience – from world tours in the USA, Mexico, and South Africa to solo performances in Japan. This cosmopolitan perspective shapes the artistic direction of the show, which – very much in the spirit of Bowie – transcends cultural boundaries.
