A debate between body image, nationalism, and Christian values has reignited. On June 19, 1811, Friedrich Ludwig Jahn gathered his fellow gymnasts at Hasenheide for physical and national-political training.

The first German gymnastics ground soon became a physical and political pilgrimage site. 206 years ago, Jahn was arrested on suspicion of revolutionary activities and treasonous tendencies.

In Daniel Kehlmann's best-selling novel "Measuring the World" (2005), Alexander von Humboldt and Friedrich Ludwig Jahn meet. Around the Jahn Monument in Hasenheide, we will explore and debate Jahn's political gender and body image.
