The piano etudes by Philip Glass, one of the pioneers of minimal music, are considered modern classics. The 20 pieces unfold an impressive range - sometimes meditative, sometimes rhythmic, sometimes romantic.

It is music that seems simple at first glance, but is technically highly demanding.

The world-famous US composer has inspired artists from almost all genres with these works. Now ten renowned pianists from all over the world are presenting the 20 etudes in the Berlin Philharmonic Hall - an extraordinary evening and an entertaining journey of discovery into the fascinating world of sound of Philip Glass are guaranteed.

The performers are mostly close friends and long-time companions of the composer. They come from different musical traditions - from classical and new classical to contemporary and jazz. This diversity reflects the multifaceted work of Philip Glass, in which each etude impresses with unique rhythmic, harmonic and melodic elements.

With his etudes, Glass draws on a long tradition: Scarlatti and Chopin, and later Ligeti and Cage, created such pieces as demanding studies that demand both technique and expression.
