Concert with the Chamber Choir of the Berlin Cathedral Choir
The Chamber Choir of the Berliner Domkantorei invites you on a musical journey through the vast world of Bach. The program centers on Johann Christoph Altnickol’s grand motet “Befiehl du deine Wege,” composed in honor of the 350th anniversary of the death of Paul Gerhardt, who wrote the text.

Following the model of Bach’s great motets, the individual verses are set to music in an artful, vivid, and expressive manner.
All around, a sonic panorama unfolds with motets from Johann Sebastian Bach’s circle that are as melodious as they are rich in color. Featuring three generations of the Bach family and their contemporaries, the program spans a range from the density of the early Baroque to the sensitive clarity of the 18th century.
