The show ran on Broadway for over five years and nearly 1,700 performances, and in London’s West End for four years. In Germany, it has so far only been seen at the Theater Regensburg—in its German-language premiere in February 2025—and shortly thereafter as a guest performance in Munich. It has never been staged in Berlin before.
The musical tells the true story of Gander, Newfoundland: On September 11, 2001, 38 planes carrying around 7,000 people were diverted there. A small town doubled its population overnight—and responded to the darkest event of the century with unconditional humanity.
A musical about humanity in a state of emergency and the genuine connections that emerged from it.
- A one-act play with no intermission, featuring a live band.
