As part of the “We the People” program initiative by the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation to mark the 250th anniversary of U.S. Independence Day, the Coin Cabinet is presenting a curatorial intervention.
The Coin Cabinet is commemorating the anniversary of U.S. Independence with two special display cases: Selected coins and medals shed light on the eventful history of the United States, spanning its early days, immigration, and internal conflicts.
The exhibition also answers the question of where the dollar gets its name. In addition, an iconic American medal from the Revolutionary era bearing the likeness of George Washington is on display.
