The Christmas Bakery
Can you really wish for snow? Are there actually dogs that can speak, sing and even direct the audience? Can a snowman sing and dance? What is Bim Bam Bella Tinkie Trixie I Am Your Girlfriend Doll? Is Santa Claus sometimes actually a Santa Claus? And where is the recipe for the Christmas cookies anyway?
The musical "Die Weihnachtsbäckerei" provides answers to all these questions, in which the three siblings Jonas, Paul and Emily experience some adventures together with their dog Muffin.
When their parents are unable to come home because of a snowstorm, the three of them are left to their own devices to start the local Christmas bakery, as the grandparents are expected the next morning. Of course the fridge is empty, the recipe has disappeared and there is no money in the house. Therefore, the siblings have to come up with a lot in order to reach their goal.
Will they manage to surprise their parents with wonderful cookies? Or will they get lost in the forest on the way to the Christmas market? Why is the neighbor Frau Schnitzenbacher constantly on their heels? And where's Muffin gone again?
"The Christmas Bakery" came to life for the first time ever on the musical stage in the winter of 2018 at Schmidts Tivoli. A turbulent story is told in the pre-Christmas period, embedded are 20 of the most beautiful winter and Christmas carols by Rolf Zuckowski - including the well-known title song, of course.
