*Carmina Burana* is a scenic cantata by Carl Orff, composed in 1935–36, based on medieval texts from a 13th-century manuscript.

The songs deal with fate, love, spring, drinking and the transience of happiness. The opening chorus ‘O Fortuna’, which evokes the fickle wheel of fortune, is particularly famous.

studiosi cantandi Berlin will perform Carmina Burana together with the Zentralkapelle Berlin and the Berlin Boys’ Choir, conducted by Thorsten Putscher.

The solo parts are sung by Polly Ott (soprano), Thaisen Rusch (tenor) and Simon Robinson (bass-baritone).
