While some musicians seek to return to acoustic sounds over the course of their careers, Brian Fallon deliberately does the opposite: On his fifth solo album, *Not Bad for New Jersey*, the frontman of the punk rock institution The Gaslight Anthem cranks up the amps and celebrates the unbridled energy of his early rock idols.

The album is a tribute to the grand gesture of rock ’n’ roll, to passion, risk, and those figures who dare to do anything and love unconditionally.
Musically, Fallon blends driving power pop with powerful heartland rock. Produced by Butch Walker and recorded largely live in the Nashville area, the album eschews any trace of cynicism, relying instead on raw energy and an immediate joy of playing. Fallon is joined by prominent guests such as Brandon Flowers (The Killers) and Phil Collen (Def Leppard).
