Clear the stage for the book! The Kunstbibliothek’s ‘Buchsalon’ series of events is all about books. Maren Wienigk, curator of the Architecture and Ornament Collection, and Michael Lailach, curator of the Book Art Collection, will be talking to their guests about new and old books.

Thirteenth guest: Artist Daniela Comani challenges her audience’s visual habits and everyday assumptions. With typographical precision and attention to detail, she manipulates canonical book titles, for example, and uses ‘gendering’ as an artistic strategy.
Her series often appear as artist’s books, which she conceives and designs herself and which explore history, language and identity.
They’ll be talking to her about role models, stereotypes, the formation of canons, power dynamics and visibility, including – and particularly – within literary history.
