“Changing Rules” – Electronic Soundscapes and Modern Piano Repertoire

Using analog synthesizers, electric guitar, and vocals, the Berlin-based duo AFAR bridges the gap between nature and industry, creating new, multi-instrumental soundscapes.

In their collaborative experiment “Changing Rules” with pianist Kai Schumacher, modern piano repertoire by John Cage, Philip Glass, and Steve Reich blends into a program that explores new paths and the moment of authenticity.

In the series “Berlin – Music of the City at the Konzerthaus,” musicians and ensembles from Berlin come together to experimentally blend classical Western music from various centuries with styles that all call this city home—from voguing to strings and synthesizers to jazz.

Berlin Tracks aims to inspire, connect communities, and invite audiences to follow the diverse musical paths that together make up the soundtrack of this city.
