Live paintings and performances by Ilona Ottenbreit

Live paintings and performances characterize Ilona Ottenbreit's artistic work. Her exhibitions are in a constant state of change, allowing the audience to experience and follow this creative process directly.

In BE:CHANGE, BE:MOVE, the constant transformation of the dissolving heads symbolizes the process of change.

Ottenbreit shows that with every change, a new awareness of one's own life arises. The heads on the canvas melt and fill the entire picture space, rebuild themselves and expand until only the essence of the head remains recognizable.

These depictions are often inspired by portraits of prominent personalities such as the developmental biologist Bruce Lipton or the neuroscientist Dr. Joe Dispenza, who deal intensively with human consciousness.

Her works make it clear that humans are not only made of matter, but also of a spiritual consciousness that lasts forever.
