The musician "Chansonoir" Axel Le Rouge moves musically in the shadow of personalities from France who can explain his profound lyrics and interpretations - from a dark Jacques Brel to the wistful dreams of Edith Piaf.

For this reason, it is difficult to describe Le Rouge as a classic songwriter in the style of Hannes Wader or Reinhard Mey. His lyrics in particular go far beyond what you would find in the classic repertoire of a singer/songwriter.

Without American influences, and if inspired at all by artists like Townes Van Zandt, Le Rouge creates Van Gogh images with his voice, his guitar and his lyrical works. He is a musician and singer who presents bittersweet, dark gray songs with an extremely distinctive voice like no other.

Songs that cover life, death, everything in between and even some animal stories.
